Hi guys
im new to this site but have been reading the posts and am very impressed. I am new to building a home cockpit but am well experienced with FS. I am also experienced in woodwork and electronics.
In short i need help with how to get switches and stuff like that interfaced with FS. Also how to set up a multiple pc network to run the screens.
I am looking to build a civil airliner type cockpit. My aim is to do this on a sensible budget, therefor what i am trying to offer is a decent cockpit that isnt true to any one aircraft but can be used for many. I this this could be beneficial to many other first timers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Jake
Interfacing Options
Hey Jake welcome,
For interfacing switches and controls into your cockpit look into a KE72 Hagstrom keyboard controller which will allow you to integrate latching switches and encoders.
For networking PC's you will need a copy of FSUIPC, assuming you are running a version of MS sim, a switch or router and software like project magenta to run external gauges.
It seems like you are going with a generic approach like my cockpit, very cool. Im looking forward to any progress you post here
